Celebrating Chinese New Year at President School: A Joyful Moment of Culture and Tolerance

On February 10, 2025, President School came alive with vibrant colors, traditional music, and joyful performances to celebrate Chinese New Year. The event was a heartwarming celebration of culture, unity, and mutual respect, attended by the entire President School community, from preschoolers to senior high school students. The celebration began with an opening speech by Mrs. Justin Endramukti, Treasurer of the President University Foundation (YPUP), followed by a warm welcome from Prof. Dr. Jony Oktavian Haryanto, Secretary of YPUP. Their presence and support highlighted the importance of cultural appreciation in shaping inclusive education. This year’s Chinese New Year celebration was truly special, featuring performances from students of all levels—President School Nature & Character (PSNC), Kindergarten (TK), Elementary School (SD), Junior High School (SMP), and Senior High School (SMA). Each performance reflected the students’ enthusiasm and creativity, showcasing various elements of Chinese culture in a fun and engaging way. One of the most anticipated moments of the event was the Barongsai (lion dance) performance. The energetic and colorful dance mesmerized the audience, especially the young learners from TK Presiden, who watched in awe and excitement. The Barongsai is not only a symbol of luck and prosperity but also a powerful way to introduce children to diverse traditions from an early age. At TK Presiden, cultural celebrations like Chinese New Year are more than just events—they are opportunities to instill values of tolerance, respect, and global understanding. By engaging children in such meaningful activities, TK Presiden nurtures their character and helps them grow into empathetic and open-minded individuals. This celebration reflects President School’s commitment to promoting multicultural values and fostering a learning environment where every student feels seen, respected, and inspired.

TK Presiden Market Day: Fun Learning Experience for Young Students

TK Presiden’s Market Day: A Fun and Educational Experience! On December 6, 2024, TK Presiden successfully held an exciting Market Day event that turned the schoolyard into a vibrant mini-market. This event is part of TK Presiden’s unique learning program, aimed at helping students gain hands-on experience in communication, entrepreneurship, and teamwork. From early morning, the enthusiasm of the students could be felt all around. The young learners took part in selling various snacks and simple homemade items, proudly prepared with the help of their teachers and parents. Dressed in adorable aprons and uniforms, the children practiced counting money, offering products, and greeting customers with confidence and smiles. What made the event even more special was the active involvement of parents. Many parents came not only to support their children but also to encourage them to be independent and brave in facing real-life situations. The bond between parents and children was clearly visible, adding warmth to the whole activity. Adding to the lively atmosphere, students from SD Presiden came to visit and support their younger peers. Their presence brought joy and inspired the TK students to learn from their older “brothers and sisters.” It was a beautiful moment of unity across the President School community. Another highlight was the participation of President Special Needs Center (PSNC), whose members kindly joined the event as customers. They interacted with the young sellers and purchased snacks from the stalls, creating a meaningful moment of inclusion, appreciation, and support. This Market Day was not just about selling and buying—it was a day of learning, sharing, and growing together. It reflected TK Presiden’s commitment to providing holistic education that nurtures both academic and character development in a joyful and engaging way.
